We make the Invisalign process easy. Your first visit would be with Dr. Kelly and consists of making impressions of your teeth and photographs. Dr. Kelly then reviews your case online and makes the necessary corrections you want to achieve with your smile. This is then reviewed with you at a second appointment to make sure you’re happy with what we expect the outcome to look like.
If you approve we move on to making your clear Invisalign trays. Your third visit includes adding any necessary, removable, tooth colored attachments to your teeth. These attachments are what allow the clear tray to put forces on your teeth that allow them to move.
These are almost invisible attachments and are removed at the end of treatment. After receiving your Invisalign trays you will then change the trays every 2 weeks with the next tray provided. Dr. Kelly will need to see you approximately every six weeks. Length of treatment varies by the amount of movement needed. If a filling is required we use the latest in bonding techniques that will give you a long lasting esthetic tooth colored filling. We are a mercury free office and while we are not against having silver fillings we do not place them. Silver filling expand over time and can cause fractures in teeth, especially back molars.
This normally leads to the tooth cracking and needing a crown. Tooth colored fillings actually act to bring the tooth together rather than push it apart. While these are more technique sensitive and take longer to place, composite fillings give you a stronger and more cosmetic option than silver.
